The Big Five

- 3. Golf Anyone?
- 4. Life’s A Beach
- 5. Location… Location… Location… The Best Of Both Worlds
The Sardinia Bay Golf and Wildlife estate prides itself on offering its residents peace of mind through providing around the clock security.
No expense has been spared nor stone left unturned for the security of the estate, with local company Nitrous Security appointed as the external security provider. They manage main gate access as well as patrol and monitor the estate and the fence, which is electrified.
Residents’ alarms are linked to the gatehouse and a fully equipped armed response officer is also on duty in the evenings, ensuring a fast overall response time to emergencies.
To further maximise security, visitors are only allowed access once a resident has notified the guards that it has been approved. Construction workers are screened on a daily basis, with all construction ceased after 5pm and all workers required to be off site by 6pm.
All other pedestrians, including domestic workers, are also monitored
The Sardinia Bay Golf & Wildlife Estate offers the very best of country living. The exclusive 20km coastline includes a marine and nature reserve stretching 600m inland. Enjoy indigenous flora, exquisite birdlife and small game.
This is the ideal setting in which to jog or walk. For those who ride, there are stables are available within easy access of the estate.
Residents will automatically be members of the golf club and can look forward to the building of a community centre and sports club.
Sardinia Bay Golf & Wildlife Estate is pet-friendly and dogs, cats and birds may be kept as domestic pets within secured areas.
Originally an enjoyable par 3 mashie course, laid out between the pastures of a dairy farm, Sardinia Bay Golf & Wildlife has transformed into a testing nine-hole short course with links features.
As well as a newly refurbished club house, the course was lengthened by adding three holes on the north side of the club house and condensing the original nine on the south side into 6 to add more length.
The new course was opened in August 2014 and is now a full length nine-hole golf course with affiliation to the South African Golf Association, Eastern Province Golf Union and Handicaps Network Africa.
Pristine beaches are within walking distance, making this the ideal place to indulge in scuba diving, surfing, fishing, kite surfing or just strolling on the beach. 57 percent of the estate, which is located on the fringes of the beautiful Sardinia Bay Marine Reserve, is a protected nature reserve.
Sardinia Bay Golf & Wildlife Estate offers the best of both worlds – fresh country living with easy access to everything a vibrant city has to offer. One of the most appealing aspects of the estate is its close proximity to key locations. It’s a stone’s throw away from Port Elizabeth – 12 minutes away from the airport, six minutes from the nearest shops and 15 minutes from the Port Elizabeth CBD. It is close to good schools, churches, gyms, medical centres, hospitals and shops, including the Bay West Mall which is already under construction and is expected to be Port Elizabeth’s largest shopping centre. It is also only 5km away from the convergence of two major commuter routes, Buffelsfontein Road and the William Moffatt Express Way, both feeding through to the N2 Highway, making the daily commute a pleasure.
Popping out to the shops or to fetch the mail, has never been easier – the estate is only 4km from the nearest Super Spar, fuel station, Post Office and 5km from Woolworths, Builders Warehouse. Upmarket shopping and leisure malls, Moffatt on Main and Walmer Park are within an easy 8km drive from your front door.
Beach walks with the family and dogs have never been so accessible. Stabling and horse riding facilities are conveniently located nearby as the estate is right in the middle of the city’s “mink and manure” precinct. Walking, running and cycling from your gatehouse are on the official Iron Man Route, one of the most beautiful routes in the world. Great restaurants are plentiful and are closely located. From the Grass Roof Farmers Market right next door the legendary Cash Store just down the road. A wide variety of franchised and family eateries all within a 10 minute drive.
School runs and sports commitments are a breeze from your home in Sardinia Bay. Within a 5 – 8km radius, there are popular schools such as St Dominic’s Priory Private School, Mount Pleasant Primary, Charlo Primary, DF Malherbe and Theodor Hertzl.
